Welcome to the Vollbrecht Library: Using the Library

Find your way to all the library has to offer for your research needs.

Interlibrary Loan and MeL

Order Materials from Other Libraries

If Walsh library does not own an item, it might be found in one of the following locations.  Search in the Walsh catalog must be thorough before making requests at the following sites. Items will be delivered to the Troy Campus, and borrowers will be notified when they arrive.  There is no charge to the patron for these services.  Due dates are decided by the lending library.

Patrons can borrow books from participating libraries through MeL, the Michigan eLibrary.  Although MeL provides access to audio books, music, and movies, Walsh College Library only borrows and lends books. Order a book through MeL.  This service is available from September through May.

  • Delivery: within a week
  • Maximum number of requests = 10 items

Books and articles not owned by Walsh College Library can be borrowed through Interlibrary Loan (ILL).  Before requesting a loan, a student should seek the assistance of a reference librarian to make sure all Walsh Library resources have been checked. For more information on ILL, visit the library, call (248) 823-1337, or check the Walsh Library Page - InterLibrary Loan

  • Delivery: 3 days to 3 weeks
  • Maximum number of requests = 10 items or dependent on assignment

For more help with these sources, go to the ILL help page.
